For God is truly with us –Emmanuel - let us rejoice and be glad!
As we come to the conclusion of our Advent Retreat, it is helpful to take some time to look back and notice what stays with you from this special time of prayer. How was your heart moved during this time? Is there a scripture passage or word that has remained with you? What graces have you received? Can you notice some change in yourself? What was difficult or challenging over the time of retreat. Perhaps it would be helpful to write down any insights you have received, or plans and ideas around new beginnings that may have come to light for you. Can you recall the moments of “visitation” over these weeks where angels have crossed your path? Did you have a “cannonball” moment? Have you noticed some “stars” and where they may be leading you?
Jesus, desires nothing more, than to come into every moment of our lives. Ask Jesus now to help you see all that you have been blessed with and to hold onto these graces. Take some time to thank God for this sacred time you have spent together and how your relationship has deepened. Can you perhaps commit to take some new steps each day to continue to nurture this deepened relationship with God. For God is truly with us –Emmanuel - let us rejoice and be glad!
