Lord, be with all the healthcare workers across the world as they work tirelessly to help those infected by Covid-19. Theirs is a difficult job as many hospitals face a severe shortage of equipment.
In serving others, Lord, they have had to isolate themselves from their families and friends. Very often, their face is the last face someone who is dying from Covid-19 sees. More than medical staff, they have become surrogate families, there to give what comfort they can to patients who are in their care. They are your ministering angels. Protect them in their work.
As much as the medical staff do, there are many other staff working in our hospitals and healthcare systems. Each of them is doing what they can to get us through this. Give them the strength to carry on.
Reading: Ephesians 3 14:21
This, then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father, from whom every fatherhood, in heaven or on earth, takes its name. In the abundance of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm in power with regard to your inner self, so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love, with all God's holy people you will have the strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth; so that, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be filled with the utter fullness of God. Glory be to him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.
Inspire me, Lord, as to how I, too, might help these workers continue to do their job and how I might let them know how much they are appreciated.
