Sacred Space presents a series of audio files in association with Religious News Network. Like Sacred Space, RNN began as an initiative of the Jesuit Communication Centre. It provides over thirty local, community and hospital radio stations throughout Ireland with live and recorded news, reaction stories and features. RNN sends out a fortnightly CD with 12 interviews edited and ready for transmission. You will find new files here every week - selections from RNN's current distribution and from its archives.

Shortcut to Matthew's Gospel

Father Oliver Crilly has just written a book called “A Shortcut to the Gospels”. The book underlines the diversity of the four Gospels even though, superficially, they are all telling the same life of Christ. Saint Mathew’s Gospel was written at a time of great change in the early Church – the evolution from its Jewish origins to include Gentiles. Because of that, Father Crilly told Liam Cahill it is a very appropriate Gospel for our times. Oliver Crilly’s book “A Shortcut to the Gospels” is published by Veritas.

Saint Patrick

Patrick is Ireland’s most important saint and every year he is celebrated in more and more countries. This year’s parades in cities, towns and villages throughout Ireland underlined how important he still is in the lives of people. Andrew McCarthy talked with Father Jim McCormack, lecturer in Ecclesiastical History in All Hallows College, in Dublin. He began by exploring the question of what exactly we know about Saint Patrick.
